North Valley Symphony Orchestra (NVSO) is comprised of adult musicians from all walks of life: teachers, engineers, pilots, policemen, healthcare, labor and management. We share one common goal: the pursuit of exceptional live music performance. The orchestra also invites exceptional North Valley Youth Orchestra members to participate. All members are volunteers, and must audition for the orchestra to be accepted. That said, we recognize that we are not a professional orchestra, and the community spirit and camaraderie in our group is very positive and accepting.

If you have a passion to perform great music, can attend weekly rehearsals, and are willing to commit to the necessary practice, we want you in our orchestra!!

Rehearsals:
The rehearsal venue is Shiloh Community Church, 19021 N 32nd St, Phoenix, AZ 85050

Rehearsals for the 2025-26 concert season will begin Monday, August 18,2025.
Rehearsals are from 7:00-9:15 p.m.

2025-26 Concert Season:
The performance venue is North Canyon HS PAC, 1700 East Union Hills Dr, Phoenix, AZ, 85024.

The season will include 4 major concerts:
October 11, 2025 - “Symphonic Spooktacular”
December 13, 2025 - “A Wintry Christmas”
March 14, 2026 - “Seasons through Music”
May 16, 2026 - “250 Years of America”

Principal Trombone (1 seat)
Principal Oboe (1 seat)
Principal Viola (1 seat)
Section First Violin (1 seat)
Section Viola (2 seats)
Section Cello (1 seat)
Section Bass (1 seat)
Assistant Horn (1 seat)

Auditions: 

  • In person auditions for open principal seats for the 2025-26 concert season will be held on August 3, 2025. Call or email for an appointment time.

  • The audition deadline for section member auditions for the 2025-26 concert season is August 1, 2025. Auditions for section seats are held via video submission. Auditions between concert cycles during the season will be on a case by case basis.

  • Once you have downloaded and printed the Video Audition Instructions, and prepared your audition to include your chosen solo, please record a video of your audition, and upload it by following the “Upload Adult Audition” link.

  • Let us know you have uploaded an audition by filling out the “Contact Us” page!!
